Welcome

Welcome to the Step Website. Step is a group of volunteer Christian schools workers who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people through work in schools in the St Albans and Harpenden areas.

The volunteers are from local churches keen to be involved in the holistic education of teenagers and specifically blowing the dust off Christianity. Step specialises in training teenagers as leaders.

The 267 'More' talk clip Chris and the interns filmed a small bible reading clip for the 267 'More cafe' on Monday. Check it out. If you didn't think Chris was evil, you might now!

Our Aims

Step seeks to present a relevant example of Christianity to young people in schools. Through this example we hope to demonstrate a lively form of Christianity that affects all aspects of our lives.

Step achieves its vision by involving local churches in schools. Step provides opportunities for Christian young people to talk about and demonstrate their faith through engagement in social action, community work, projects and school missions. In so doing, formal education is reinforced by providing excellent informal educational opportunities.

Funding

Step is a registered charity funded and managed by local churches. Each year we approach other agencies, individuals and trusts to raise enough money to cover our operational costs. Schools are very welcome to contribute or invest in Step or individual workers.

Schools Involved and our material

Step works in a wide variety of local secondary schools including mainstream schools, church schools and special schools (both EBD and MLD). We are asked to work outside St Albans and Harpenden, but aim to focus on our local area. Our material is widely used across England but is custom-written to requests from teachers in St Albans and Harpenden schools.
